In the third quarter of 2024, the top five communication apps in Brazil showcased varied performance trends, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here's a detailed look at their weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics.

Discord - Talk, Play, Hang Out from Discord Inc. saw a gradual increase in weekly revenue, peaking at around $81K in mid-August before declining towards the end of September to approximately $42K. The app's weekly downloads reached a high of 166.6K in late July but decreased to 119.7K by the end of September. Despite fluctuations, the weekly active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 6.7M at the start of the quarter to 6.8M by the end.

Telegram demonstrated a steady growth in weekly revenue, starting at $35K and rising to nearly $48K by the end of the quarter. Weekly downloads showed a peak of 358.9K in late July, followed by a decline to 265.9K at the quarter's close. The active user base hovered around 16M throughout the period, maintaining a consistent engagement level.

WhatsApp Business reported a notable increase in weekly revenue, starting at $18K and climbing to $44K by September. Downloads peaked at 370.9K in late July but tapered off to 308.9K by the end of September. The app sustained a strong active user presence, fluctuating slightly around 16.4M users.

Azar: Video Chat & Meet People experienced a steady weekly revenue trend, with minor variations from $12K to slightly over $13K. Downloads peaked at 12.4K at the end of July and decreased to around 10K by the end of the quarter. The app's active user numbers remained stable, ranging from 53.6K to 58.5K throughout the quarter.

Finally, Skype saw a gradual decline in weekly revenue from $8.3K to $7.6K. Weekly downloads also decreased from 18.1K at the start of the quarter to 14.5K by the end. However, the weekly active users showed an upward trend, rising from 240K to 259K over the same period.
